Brewing Guide

Perfect Your Brew

Unlock the full potential of our African coffees with these brewing recommendations. Each method highlights different aspects of the coffee’s flavor profile.

Start with freshly roasted beans

Use coffee within 2-4 weeks of the roast date for optimal flavor.

Grind just before brewing

Adjust your grind size to match your brewing method: fine for espresso, medium for pour-over, coarse for French press.

Use the right water temperature

195-205°F (90-96°C) is ideal for most brewing methods.

Measure precisely

We recommend a ratio of 1:16 (coffee to water) for pour-over methods and 1:12 for French press.

Time your extraction

Pour-over brews should take 2.5-3.5 minutes, while French press requires 4 minutes of steeping.
